Timber Construction Excursion on May 26, 2026

From Building Material to Building Structure – Experience Timber Engineering and Multi-Materials Up Close

Discover practice up close! Together with the Technical University of Braunschweig, we are organizing a four-day excursion to leading companies in the building materials and timber industry, from the South Harz region to the Black Forest.


As the excursion is limited to a maximum of 8 participants, we strongly recommend registering early. The personal contribution is 120 € (incl. travel and accommodation), and the registration deadline is April 24, 2026.

Remote Sensing: Poster award for Erik Rivas

The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science extends its warmest congratulations to Erik Rivas, M.Sc.. The PhD candidate at the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation (IPI), Leibniz University Hannover, was recognised with the award for the 2nd best poster, presented at the 2026 Taiwan International Symposium on Land Subsidence, held in Taipei, Taiwan from April 13 to 17, 2026.

The poster was entitled "Decoupling basin scale land subsidence signals from shallow and deep aquifers based on InSAR and component decomposition methods". Erik is employed in a joint project between the National Taiwan University and LUH, funded by DFG and entitled "The Groundwater Budget and Subsidence Risk in the Taipei Basin, Taiwan, from Remote Sensing and Numerical Modelling".
