  From Building Material to Building Structure – Experience Timber Engineering and Multi-Materials Up Close

  Route Overview: South Harz → Schwäbisch Hall → Waldachtal (Black Forest) → Blaustein (Ulm) → Rothenburg o. d. T. → Iphofen

  Preliminary Itinerary:

  Day 1

  • 08:30 AM: Departure from Hannover
  • Technical Program: Tour of the sawmill ante-holz (Rottleberode in the South Harz region)
  • Evening: City tour and overnight stay in Schwäbisch Hall

  Day 2

  • Technical Program 1: Schaffitzel Holzindustrie (Schwäbisch Hall)
  • Technical Program 2: SWG Schraubenwerk Gaisbach
  • Technical Program 3: Tour of the Schönbuchturm (Herrenberg)
  • Evening: Evening program and overnight stay in Waldachtal

  Day 3

  • Technical Program 1: fischerwerke (Waldachtal)
  • Technical Program 2: müllerblaustein HolzBauWerke (Blaustein)
  • Evening: Evening program and overnight stay in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

  Day 4

  • Technical Program: Tour of Knauf Gips (Iphofen)
  • Approx. 05:00 PM: Planned return to Hannover

  4:00–5:30 p.m. Tour of the wooden roller coaster “Colossos”

  Schedule

  Goal: Tour of the glulam construction company
  Poppensieker & Derix in Westernkappeln

  There will be a guided tour of the company with a special focus on structural systems made of glued laminated timber (glulam/BSH). Afterwards, a visit to a hall structure built in glulam construction is planned.

    Tour of various forest types, questions of wood sorting, wood defects,
    and silvicultural treatment

  Evangelical Reformed Church in Celle
    Tour of the half-timbered ensemble at the “Huguenot Church”

    Tour of the roof structure in the north wing
